Hello,
sorry to post her but I need to know the name of a producer of a mini/desktop tripod that has a panning capability for video, through my G5.
I noticed one on a trip to Rhodes in Greece, but didnt get a chance to purchase.
Sorry again,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
don't be sorry
Manfrotto makes a tabletop tripod (cat. no 3007) that should be quite stable and gives you the possibility to use a normal head (so you can mount a pan/tilt head).
At a price of $ 21, I find it also very affordable, given how sturdy it looks. (I also read some testimonials in other threads that it is stable.)
You should be able to find it at http://www.bogenimaging.us/

Can the camera be rotated on the tripod with a finger?
Thanks again,
Mark.

That would most likely depend on the head you use... you can mount any standard head on top of the tripod, as it has a standard screw.
Another option might be something like a 'Clamperpod' ( www.clamperpod.com )
