I just bought Tokina lens for my Rebel XTi...

Chose this Tokina 100mm f/2.8 Macro Autofocus Lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/393445-REG/Tokina_ATXAF100PROC_100mm_f_2_8_AT_X_M100.html) over the Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/194451-GREY/Canon_4657A006_100mm_f_2_8_USM_Macro.html)...

Read some comparison reviews on Photozone for Tokina (http://www.photozone.de/Reviews/Canon%20EOS%20Lens%20Tests/270-tokina-af-100mm-f28-at-x-pro-d-macro-canon-review--test-report?start=2) and Canon (http://www.photozone.de/Reviews/Canon%20EOS%20Lens%20Tests/45-canon-eos-aps-c/167-canon-ef-100mm-f28-usm-macro-test-report--review) and then pulled the trigger on Tokina...:)

Your thoughts/comments are much appreciated...:)

There is a tulip festival coming up in Topeka, KS in early April and this will be my first dabble with macro photography.

Both are good. Canon has a nicer non extending AF system, Tokina has an extending AF system but is cheaper and comes with a hood. Toke has a bit more CA, but I've not found it to be a problem when I had it.
