Wow - Shocking rumour of photokina about 1D

I really wonder if Canon will already announce the successor to the 1D model - I read somewhere that the modl is going to come out soon.....
Has anyone more precise information?
I need urgent info to determine weather to wait or or not...

They seem to be suggesting a D120 over at dpreview as rumoured at

A 12 mp cmos seems to be what is suggested.

Probably better to wait a couple more weeks to see for sure.

I'm hoping that whatever they are planning will drive down the price of the 1D so I'll be able to afford one!!!

Actually rumour has it that the camera will be a full size c-mos sensor with a resolution of 11 million pixels.

I do not believe that this camera will replace the 1D or the D60, but will be targeted to professionals as a studio camera. It will not have the fps speed of the EOS 1D although it will be built in the same body. It will not replace the D60 either because the price of the new model will be more expensive than the 1D is now.

I guess we'll know for sure next month.

The announcement was out on Canon europa site then withdrawn. Other sites have pulled the announcement info to avoid compromising their relationship with canon.
