Try a faster shutter speed. Try 1/60 or faster.

higher iso, faster shutter, auto-focus, and tripod? it's actually best to shoot it during daytime.

If the front was just a tiny bit sharper, It would be a great shot! 1/6 sec is usually too slow, but not always if you're lucky.

1/ As for the focus problem, were you in AI Servo?
2/ Using the right focus point?

first shoot with moving cars need advice. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=358481)

thanks for the advice. I was kind of trying to have the whole car in focus and have the end of the car have the movement look.

if you try to do that with panning its difficult, and the easiest way is take the image as the car is passing directly by, that drifting shot was a hand pan shot, its pretty sharp from front to back, or do the car to car thing, i do that a lot, its easy as long as u get the cars to go the same speed.

i don't know which part of va u live in, but i'm setting up a shoot for rolling shots soon, and i don't mind teaching people some technique, i'll prob have some nice cars to shoot too. I live in the northern loudoun county, near dulles airport / dulles town center area.
