I currently have a Sony 15" Flat Panel Monitor that came with my Sony Vaio Computer. I would like to step up to a better and larger monitor 17"-19". I am looking for some input on what monitors in your opinion render great colors and clarity/sharpness for photo processing my RAW 20D images. Thanx!

I'd say something along these lines

17" (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-001-147&depa=0)

19" (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-001-156&depa=0)

I've also heard very good things about Dell's high end flat panel series (UltraSharp I believe it's called).

To slightly hijack this thread.....

I've been thinking about replacing my laptop with a micro ATX and a LCD display, however most of my work is outdoors at events. Has anyone used their LCD outside of their office? Is it better than a laptop LCD screen?

AT the local Staples store I saw an off-brand 20" display for only around $500!! The prices are coming down.

Just an FYI. As I've heard, off brand LCD's are not worth the money at all. When it comes to LCD screens, you get what you pay for.

I run a top of the line Dell 19" (work paid for it :)). It is very good on the colour side of things, something that many LCD fail on.

Incidently, the Dell ones are made by Samsung, or at least did, mine was bought six months ago.

I have a 23" Sony Widescreen LCD which I absolutely love.
