Anyone using this? I'm looking for a day bag for a 1D with 300 f2.8 and a couple lenses, TC's, and flash. Also will a lens case attach to the sides?
Trying to decide between this one and the Mini Trekker.
Thanks,
Forest

I have one. The bag would be too small for your needs. I don't have 300/2.8 but I think you can only put 1D with 300/2.8 in the bag. I can only put 5D + 24-70, 16-35 II and 580EX comfortably. I can squeeze in 70-300 DO but accessing them would be difficult unless you lay down the bag which defeats the purpose of getting Flipside.

Huh? the flipside kinda looks like youd have to lay it down to get into it no matter what? Are you sure youre not confusing it with say the fastpack or slingshot?

There's a strap that goes around the waist which you turn the bag around and yes it lays down, but you don't have to actually lay it on something. I'm not sure how well it does though on heavy gear.

Wow thats weird. I was not aware that it was designed to be a "non sit down to access contents" type backpack. I have a flipside 350 rightnow and I find that I have to set it down to access everything anyway. So now Im looking at the mini trekker AW but cant seem to find any reviews on it with good pictures.

Nevermind, bunch on cambags.com....
Looks like the mini trekker wasnt really made for a gripped 5D sized camera though....
The search continues.

There were a few reasons I sold mine.
1. To small. With all the gear in my sig+ 1D charger, 3 batts, etc. I had to CRAM it shut
2. to camera bag looking. To me, it screamed camera bag. Not something I want while taking the train with it on.
3. to "hard". I need something that will flex. Not have a hard shell. I guess this is good for protection....thats about it.

Really because there are some nice pics with it stuffed and aside from your extra body...would it have been fine?
The Idea I get from this bag is possibly good for hiking and great for city outings, but more city outings if you were a tourist so people can't open it without your knowing. I've never seen a backpack though that didn't look like it didn't have something important unless you look like your in grade school in which it'll just be books.
Other than that, business men in NYC love backpacks and one can assume that the majority have nice expensive stuff in them despite the Nike symbol or standard logo they may sport.

It probably would have been fine with out the extra body, but I needed that body
I'm also in high school, so it would look like i'm just carrying school stuff...

So see! So you're saying you take all that and school stuff...to school?
Here's what I don't get, the mark up of these bags. I just got my issue of...I want to say popular Photography and they show 5 new bags one being the 300. Yeah, street Price is $57. Psh, I wish. What happened to that?

Seriously? For $57 I would have one already. I only wish I would have considered when they first came out and were that price.

I agree with you. That's why I still use North Face Recon as primary camera backpack. I put Tamrac Velocity 3 inside for protection. I want to be able to carry extra sweater, snacks and other necessities. I've just ordered North Face Solaris for coming family vacation. Hopefully Solaris is more comfortable when carrying heavy load. But still I plan to keep flipside 300 for strolling around the park or museums.

OK, so it sounds like the Flipside won't be big enough. I've narrowed it down to the MiniTrekker and the Think Tank Airport Antidote.
