Sevillafox is potentially going to be there for her son Aidan's birthday and she thinks it would be cool to meet a bunch of us that are "local" to her.
Any interest? Date would be April 19th.

Thee Sevilliafox a.k.a Tiff? In town for a one day magical appearance, oh my. Might have to check my social calendar on this one.

I have to do a photo shoot in the Waukesha area. I'm going to see if I can combine it with your zoo trip.

Thanks, Tiffany, for the heads-up. A day at the zoo looks fun. I may have a work commitment, so I'll have to wait and see.

I might be up for that as well. It would be my first meet up with "locals" and think it would be fun. However, I know sometime in April I'm going up north for a turkey hunting shoot ...I'm hoping it's not the same weekend but I have a feeling that it is. I'll find out this weekend.

Looks like it is the following weekend that I will be up north, so I think I'm free for this for now and I'd definitely like to do it.

I'll try to make it for the full day, worst case would be after 1pm though.
Edit: I took the day off....so now it's going to rain....sorry.

Becky and I would love to come, but we have a previous commitment that day. We'll hope for another future event to meet Tiffany and some other shooters up in Cheeseland.
Have fun!

hawk911

in April, it's pretty much raining all month, isn't it? I was just the initiator. I think we should schedule a rain date though.

Perhaps the following saturday would be a viable option? I don't want to take the munchkin out if it's rainy and the critters won't cooperate. I want him to see more than what's available at he madison zoo.

Hmm that's a 10 day forecast and does not cover the 19th...after talking to Ron I'm getting the impression that some of the folks think the meet is this weekend on the 12th. Hopefully Ron will still be able to make the 19th. Both dates should work just fine for me. Now just a thought to avoid any confusion and the haphazardness of last minute information, should we start a POTN Chicago thread to begin throwing out ideas for the calendar? I think this would probably be better than discussing the next move the day of a meet that way everyone has time to take a look at the calendar a few months in advance and set those dates aside. Now that Curtis has an official POTN Chicago calendar page up we really have no excuse to wait on ideas, if you've got one throw it out there, just my two cents.

Where did the 12th come in?
As far as I know, this is the plan.
APRIL 19th
Weather date: APRIL 26th
The zoo is open 9am-4:30 PM. We have a 2 hour drive so my family will probably arrive around 10-10:30am (Maybe 11 depending on when I drag my pregnant a$$ out of bed ;))

so do we have a consensus on the meeting time now? Seems like if the weather holds, we should be in the 60s and sunny.
11:00 am sounds good, but where? Meet at the Penguin display right by the old entrance?

Next to the horribly smelly penguins. It has to be the worst smelling area in the whole zoo.

Yeah right. That'll be easy to spot. Nothing like a zoo to get the pregnant women out of hibernation. You'll be one of hundreds, I'm sure.
Here's a link to the map. We can meet at #26, or the penguins. You pick.

According to the map entrance 26 seems to be the only option as there seems to be construction by the main entrance
hawk911
14th of April 2008 (Mon), 07:54
Ed, that's the only entrance, but not the only place to meet up. There's always lots going on at the entrance so I figured a spot off the busy intersection would be better.

You could borrow mike's green Speedo, since that seems to be brought up at every G2G (G2@G) ;) Seriously, Look for a buncha camera guys bunched up chimping each other's cameras. I'm not worried I won't recognize you; just that we might not see you go past.

Sounds ok. But, I belive we're still going in any case. We've reserved a room at the country springs hotel for saturday night and they require 2 day notice to cancel. So, i'm keeping everything crossed that the rain will be sparatic and the weather people will be wrong as they so often are. :)

Just taking a look at NOAA, calling for high of 56 and 60% chance of precip. Anyway you cut it were looking at overcast conditions. This will probably be a last minute decision for me, just depends on what it looks like in the morning, I'd hate to fill up the tank + parking + admission just for a rain out. Crossing my fingers for a hole in the clounds.
