Hi,
I own a canon 10d. I have formated my computer and installed xp. I have misplaced my sulutions disk, and cannot view the pictures that are on the camera. What do I do?
Thanks in advance!

Contact your local Canon service department and ask for a replacement. They will probably charge you a small fee.

can't you simply attach camera to usb and use it as a drive?

Dunno, I've always used a card reader with mine. Why don't you try it and see? Either it will work or it wont.

Ya as cadwell said a card reader is the way to go. No mis-fortune of tripping over the USB cable when it is still attached to the camera. And the good thing is u won't need any drivers for the Card reader (atleast in Win 2000 and XP).

The driver for 10D can be downloaded for free from canon website. You can connect the camera through USB after you've installed the driver. The camera would appear in the explorer as another drive.
I have used this method in past and it works without any problems.

The original poster may still need to get the Canon software to get the Canon file conversion utility.
