i thought i'd start a stupid rumour err, i mean my canon sources have told me in confidence that a new 50ds is coming out in april and has a medium format sensor, 38mp, and can make you a cup of coffee every morning, but only if your names john. oh and its a hybrid with virtually no CO2 emissions and its body is made from the fingernails of japanese maidens pure in heart and body.

So how much will this sell for?
And is it cheaper for people who doesn't have ID that corresponds to the name John? :(
btw. how credible is your source? I heard conflicting information that it's actually a 35mpx sensor, and it's made from pure punani.

apparently the new ds will sell for between 14.6 billion lira and 25 million yen, prices are as yet to be finalised. my sources are concrete, beyond reproach, more than the usual -'works for canon'- he was a bone fide stranger i was talking to, as he asked me for spare change- excentric you see-and he turned out to be the ceo of canon/burger king. also i forgot to mention the new 50ds comes with free curly fries.

Who makes these curly fries Are they reputable? because I know Nikon will be bundling their D69xxxxxs with McDonald's french fries.
scas
23rd of March 2008 (Sun), 20:54
the fries are made by sigma, so the coating will come off realy easily and quality control is sorely lacking, as no two fries will be the same. most will be returned twice before you get one that tastes right.

I don't know. I guess you'd know better than I do, since you know the source through wife's sister-in-law's second cousin's dog and you met randomly at a show and spoke to him for 15 minutes. Who am I to judge. :roll:

some say that canon is in negotiations with kelloggs to bring out the first full frame cornflake. its a long way off and early specs point to full auto white balance for early morning eyes, auto sugar and a new moulded battery grip ( for the optional electric spoon )

Holy Crap! this has got to be for real! and to think that they are really going to put in three print buttons so that you won't have to shift your hands from their normal "shooting positions" to hit the print button! that is soooo awesome!
BTW Prime Zoom? that is CLASSIC

This most be a joke right?
Well i don't think so that is going to happen.
First the 50D is going to be the next model of the 40D, and the "s" is only for the best camera of canon 1Ds, you will never see 450Ds or 500Ds
and medium format in canon i don't think so.
actually I don't know why canon don't ask to the final users what they really want, i mean its like all the users say " I WANT TO MAKE BIGGER PRINTS GET MORE MEGA PIXELS ON THE NEXT MODEL" place, with 12 mega pixel is good enough, and why to get a "SMALL RAW" that we need is "MEDIUM RAW" and RAW.
the SMALL RAW is to small, 1/4 of the CCD like the 40D 10 mpx to 2.1 mpx if it posible i will get 6mpx of medium raw.
Im a wedding photographer for Mexico City, my dream camera is the D3 of Nikon only for the FF, HI ISO and 12mpx.... I'm not going to change to nikon but I wait to canon make 5D II and see what its look like.
I'm not so good with my English but i hope people can understand what im try to say.

of course its not a joke. my highly respected source says that canon are combining the 40d line and the 5d replacement and calling it a 50ds, s for super, and we all know that sources are never wrong.

This is very important! I just got a first hand look at the 50Ds this morning. As I held it I realized that the cornflake sensor picks up more light than I had expected, in fact, the colors are astonishing. The greatest part is that this new sensor does not need to be handled as carefully as prehistoric electronic sensors as it can be cleaned simply with half a cup of milk and it only takes an astonishing 4 hours to dry! I am totally pumped for this one. Especially the new inviromentally friendly bamboo grip replacement!

ok, I wasent suppose to tell this part but I cant help it. Its top secret from a canon representative, but he said that the new 50Ds will also be free after 6 boxes of Kellogs products and $50 shipping and handling. The catch is that it only applies to previous Canon camera owners. Also under wraps is the new Tootsie Roll IR sensor replacement, scheduled for release in oct. 2009

Who makes these curly fries Are they reputable? because I know Nikon will be bundling their D69xxxxxs with McDonald's french fries.
The more important question is if this fries will come with a cheese sauce or not. If they do how much extra will it be, if at all? And if they do, what kind of cheese?
clickcanon40
10th of April 2008 (Thu), 18:24
well, that is where the BG-F2 fry-grip will come in handy, attach it to the new 50Ds and it will begin to warm cheese inside the "cheese drive" compartment. It also holds the fries for added convenience. It will sell for about $500 and includes 2 cheese refills.
scas
11th of April 2008 (Fri), 20:36
lads please, its getting away from the subject- who creally cares about the cheese or the cheese sauce, lets get back to the important issues about the new 50ds ( s for super ) its will it come with taco sauce or chilli sauce, and will the coating be crispy.
just keeping it real.
it's all gravy.

everyone seems to be waiting with baited breath for the 5d 2, if only they knew about the 22nd of may release of the 50ds, new specs include 24 bit logitent processor,with quad core print button, 15 gigaquads of s-ram( for the tripod attachment) and -the piece de resistance-a pseudo lens hood for the body cap, so you can look like you have an 85L even with no lens attached.

Very cool! The machines that make multi-ply paper products like paper towels & toilet paper are about as complicated as it gets! Especially the ones that produce the "quilted" pattern, as found in some toilet paper & towels.
It's definitively an art taking a concept product and actually designing a mechanized process to make that product a reality in as few steps as possible.
What ever happened to the brown paper cardboard-like paper towels that were conveniently auto-folded into 3rd's? Now those could make some very rugged zoom lenses!
Those were the good ole' days. :lol:

Yeah, he was a paper science & engineering major here at UW. I'm doing PSE too, but I'm also doing chemical engineering because I really don't think I want to work in the paper industry the rest of my life. It's really pretty interesting, and a lot of people are like "What?!" when you tell them you're going to school to learn how to make paper. lol

I think that the new lens must be a EF-S type because it does't have the Ls White nor the Red Ring so This new 50D or S must be a cropped camera.
But enough of that, I know no camera would be made withouit a superior flash probably made by Ron Popeil.

Sorry to disappoint but if Canon's release schedule history is any indication, we won't see the 50D until sometime in the beginning of next year. But you never know, maybe they will surprise us this fall at Photokina. However, I would expect they would release a 5D update over a new crop sensor professional camera.

why would it be called 50D (s)
s for the aps-f sensor- 2.4 times bigger than aps-c
(mK 3)
because as we all know the japanese detest the number 2 and anything to do with it as its the polite term for feces or poo. the japanese, according to Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche- the well known israeli poet- have no known word or symbol for feces or any relative term, therefore the number 2 is not in their language.

they can only count 1,3,4,5 etc which makes logarithmics difficult
'Law for loga(bc)
Consider x = logab and y = logac
Þ ax = b and Þ ay= c'
also Changing the base from c to b
logca = x
cx = a
and obviously
Taking logs to base b on both sides
logbcx = logba
º xlogbc = logba
