I realize CS3 has been out for a while, but are there any issues that anyone is aware of regarding CS2 that would explain why it is currently so cheap as of late (not Vista compatible, just plain outdated, etc)? I was looking to upgrade from PSE to CS3, then found the low prices of CS2.......
Thanks guys!

I expect CS4 is due sometime soon?
CS2 does work in Vista - you may have to switch to Administrator mode to register it (or it keeps on bugging you) but I used it for about 6 months without problem.

Any idea of typical update cycle timing for CSx? I ask because I'm thinking of getting CS3 but I can happily live with PSP XI if CS4 is on the horizon...

CS3 came out last April(ish) IIRC so I doubt they'll bring out another version till at least the end of the year. I seem to remember they have a 18-24 month release cycle. On the other hand...

CS2 will not be updated anymore which means that all the new cameras coming on the market will not be supported. Although if you don't shoot raw it should not be an issue.

If you do, the workaround is to convert to DNG with the free DNG converter and then open in ACR/CS2.

Using CS2 its not just the cameras that aren't supported in ACR. You miss out on the new functionality added to it as well.
Every once in awhile Adobe has a special upgrade offer for Elements users... a couple months ago, I think the offer was for $299 to upgrade to CS3... substantial savings off retail price or even typical upgrade price. (of course, no insight when/if next such savings will come along.)
