a few examples, as there were others asking about extension tubes in general.
the tubes seem to let me get much nearer the subject and have increased the depth of field.
i tried to pick easily identifiable objects to give a idea of scale.

i want a set now!, what lense did you put it on? and do you think itll work with only a pop up flash? more pics !

I only have the one lens :)
the 17/85 kit jobby.
the two pic's embedded here were taken with on board flash.
the onboard flash will have trouble clearing the extended lens so i kind of focused manually further up the subject, if that makes sense.

i really want to try and eye shot. I only have a set of tubes as well (no ded. marco yet) but it blows me away with all the creepy looking things inside the eye, lol

lol, yes i'm a bit concerned by the weirdness going on there but wifey assures me that her eyes are fine and she had them tested only last week, so i guess she knows :D

if thats what ext tubes do with a 85mm, i wonder how my 105 would look! i was wondering abtouthe flash for the reason of getting the flash around the lense since the subjects are close.. but i have hand held LEDs for this hehei can see ext tubes in my near future, just need to find a set that 'says' itll work on the xti

Extension tubes, even Ebay el cheapos, rock. They add even more potential to your outfit for bugger all outlay.

you dont need one that "says" it will work with the XTI, cause i don't think you will find that. As long as its good for Canon EOS cameras you'll be rockin
i use my tubes on my 70-200mm L and it works great
