Thought this was an interesting find while walking along the river front. Wasn't quite sure what to make of it, left me wondering what the story was behind it.

C & C Welcomed and appreciated, I've been feeling very unmotivated for sometime, sort of lost so hopefully I can get that enthusiasm back.

bench memorials have become common in my corners although without shoes. I think a device for the local park system to raise money for the park system.

Hi Shasta,
I really like this image. I think the shoes definitely make it for obvious reasons. I hope you regain your motivation so you can post some more interesting shots like this. :) Joe

Quality shot though I would have extended the frame on the left to include the whole bench. Otherwise well composed, sharp, makes an emotional impact with significant symbolism.

Thank you all very much. I do have others including the whole bench but thought it doesn't draw your eye across the frame as much as this version. I have never had an image where I am still wondering why the shoes are there, were they Leonard's, this capture really has me thinking.

I may just post up another version just to see.

I'm not sure I don't like the closer one better. The shoes make it especially poignant.

Thank you all for looking and I'm kinda getting more keen to the pulled out version as well. The closer version actually does pull your eye into the shoes but its the shoes and the bench that gives the image it's meaning.

Without a doubt, the full bench shot is better in my opinion. To me, that emphasizes the emptiness, reinforcing the empty shoes. On a "nitpick" note... the first shot had "In" cut off of it too, another reason I like the second shot better. I would crop it just a touch tighter though, towards the edges of the bench and not the edges of the concrete beneath it.

Thank you for the comments, good suggestion on the cropping I think that would look better.

Cheers
