Was the deal for half off Photoshop CS. Just ordered my copy tonight, cant wait to dig in next week.

THANKS to this forum for having posted that link about a month ago. I had to search on it to find it, but it was still there and still works and I was gonna get Photoshop anyway, its like getting a free lens out of the deal.

I've just started shooting RAW, so I'm going to save up this batch and try to attack em all at once when CS comes in. I wish now I had done it Raw+jpeg so I could have blasted a few prints out at Costco, but since I nearly filled the 1gigger in a day, I'm glad I didnt now. They are sitting nicely in a folder on my PC waiting to be loved and scrubbed and converted and the flash card is back and formatted in the 20D waiting for the next run.

...
The other best part of the 20d is that its like you never stop shopping. I'm not a big shopper but there is definitly something to the rush of saving and spending on this stuff, something I never experienced with film as I bought my 8008s and kit lens and never really drooled over more.

Finally recovered enough from the blow of dropping that much cash on the camera to start ordering things to complement it today. I got a nice USB 2.0 card reader for $20, and while I was at Best Buy I saw they had a deal for a canon badged carry case, a BP211A battery and a UV filter that fits onto the kit lens. Total cost was near $80, but I was gonna need the bag and battery anyway, the free filter made up for the tax....

Next up, some better lenses. Had to get Photoshop first tho, couldnt see it the other way around.

Why wait?? The 20D has a software for you to convert your RAW files to JPEG...............And I'm not too sure if CS already have support for 20D RAW.........I could be wrong in this :?

Congrats on all your purchaseseses!!! Sounds like a lot of fun!!!

Have a look at this page (http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/) too.

For myself i've decided all the post processing required in RAW is only worthwhile if I know i'm going to be blowing the picture up really large, which is rare for me. Then again some of my best photos were just dumb luck. Once I work out (or someone tells me) a decent RAW workflow I might consider it again.

Photoshop CS has RAW support for CR2 files.
