View Full Version : Do you buy more L glass now....

than what you purchased in the days of film. I believe that sales of premium L lens must have increased since digital photography took off. Do other members now find that L glass is the way to go whereas before you got your DSLR you were happy with non L glass.

With the advent of web forums like this one, sharing of photos and 100% crops...... which we didn't have in the old days I'm sure there is a feeling that you must use the best glass if you want a halfway decent photo.

What do thers think about this.

First, you don't need an L lens to get a half way decent photo. Almost all Canon lenses are more than half way decent.

Secondly, I have always appreciated good quality glass, either prime non-L lenses, L lenses or a few non-L lenses that give good performance. Digital did not change my opinion on that. The proof is in big prints from either source.
