Here's my scenario.

I have Nikon D70 and I want to print photos at home all in the name of convenience and saving valuable cash. I've been searching through canon's new range of Pixma products.

Purpose: To print brilliant eye popping photos (which almost leaps from glossy paper)
Budget range: 400 to mid 500's.
Why Canon? Coz they're better than HP
Quantity: Let's say I wanna create a visual portfolio. It's a hobby, not making any monetary cash out of it.
Minimum cartiadges: 6. The more the merrier.

For all those photo enthusiasts out there, please help. Also, if ya like to suggest any different models within the criteria, you're more than welcome.

Do a search here and you'll find lot's of great advice on Canon printers. As a general rule, the more recent the model and the more ink colors the better and faster the output. IMO you can't go wrong. In your price range (if it were US$) I'd get the i9900. I have no idea how much $500 AU is in US$.

But if I recall they won't print anything taken with a Nikon...
