I have been offered a strange camera, Canon EPOCA
Non-digital - looks like a camcorder - takes 35mm film.
I have never seen this model and don't think it was ever sold in UK. Does anyone know it, and was/is it any good? I look forward to your views please.
Regards, Scrumpy.

i know it!

it was a very populair camera here in holland.
there are 2 versions :

the gray epoca 105 with a 105mm zoom range
and the black epoca 135 with a 135mm zoom range

it was a very populair camera in 1989 - 91

the camera produces very sharp pictures and i agree on the looking kinda strange part

Thanks for the kind and helpful remarks. The Epoca I have here is grey, and looking at the specs page in the manual you are correct about the details!
I have loaded a film, so when the sun remembers to shine again, I'll give it a go!
Thanks again. Scrumpy.

Here is the description in the Canon Camera Museum (http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/1987-1991/data/1990_ab-jet.html). It was called "Photura" in the USA and "Autoboy Jet" in Japan.

What a strange camera with a strange name...

Thanks for the Canon Musum link. I have searched all day for it.
Gets stranger and stranger!
Can't wait to see some results! I'll take my A80 when I go out and compare the results.
