The 100mm will be the easiest to use for insects.
I would not get the MP_E 65 as a newbie macro shooter. It really demands a good flash rig and some experience.

For insects you'll want 100mm at a minimum. You ought to consider the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 HSM macro. I'd suggest you wait on the MP, unless you need greater than 1x magnification.

I have the 100mm and it's an excellent macro lens for insects. You will have to get much closer with the 65 and normally that scares off the bugs.

I am an owner of the 100 Macro Lens. Being new to photography, I took more time to practice with macro shots, than potraits, landscape or flash photography. My recommendation is to get the 100 Macro, since it has a reasonable working distance and work towards 180 or MP-E when you are dead serious in future.

100mm would give you more range and it would serve as a nice telephoto as well. I've mostly been using the 100mm as a telephoto lens. I can't wait till it gets warmer and bugs start showing up and flowers start blooming again.

A 100mm with some extension tubes will do wonders for you. A good ring flash could help too.

Everyone has said 100mm which is what I was going to say, but I don't like to go with the crowd, so i'll suggest a 17-40L, learning to creep up quietly on insects, and stand really, really close.
