Check this out: http://memorabilia.hardrock.com/

This is using Microsoft Seadragon technology which is also used in Photosynth. If you're interested in that stuff look here: http://labs.live.com/CategoryView.aspx?category=nav_Projects

Do you think this will revolutionize the way photographers show off their work? I think it has the possiblility.

Just went to the site. The only reason I don't think it has potential is because it alienates mac users. I could open the site but then I got the lovely not available for pre intel mac message. :(

That is the ONLY reason you don't think it'll take off? Mac OS market share is 6.8%

They're not even making Power PC Macs anymore. And this will work with Intel Macs.

So why is the fact that a small percentage of a small percentage group can't use this supposed to sink it?

Possibilities perhaps. I remember when flash first hit the scene and it was going to be the next holy grail for websites and to some degree it was but it so common now. I see the same thing happening with this technology.

I don't see the need to be able to zoom in on a photographers work unless you showing off something like a pano or you have a full resolution image loaded. I can see the customer saying, when I zoom in the picture goes soft.

I do agree that there will be some great applications for this, not sure if showing off your photographic work is going to be it. The fact that it does not work on MAC (for now) is a mute point as illustrated above by the stats (assuming they are right).
