Old boats for sure
Far one might be a Kilo?
Nice to see these old boats. Do they still go out to sea?

Hey man - yeah the one on the far right is a Kilo for sure... still can't find a picture of a sub with a matching hump on the bow like in the first photo.
I moved to Sevastopol at the end of last August, have never seen these subs move an inch, though it is possible they have. Our old bus route took us past this view everyday, but we moved in Feb. and don't go to that side of town much any more, so i can't say for sure. But note the rust on the sub in the first picture  not looking too good

Good ones. I have a book on Russian subs back in Detroit. I'll check to see if that one is in there.

I'd be afraid to be underwater in something so rusted looking.
Is it rust or just oceany-buildup? (Using the technical term here)

Hey that would be great! I have a number of naval reference books myself, but unfortunately they are burried deep within the family storage unit in southern California, so any assistance on ID would be great

Maybe its just sea crud, but i think these subs don't move much because the Russians just don't have the resources right now to keep them fully operational and obviously the Soviet and now Russian Navy don't have the safest submarine track record to start out with right? (even with their modern subs, think Kursk)
too be honest I am really unsure why the Russian fleet keeps this old sub (pictured) in service at all, other than for pride and tradition. Keeping that Kilo in service here, i understand a little better as it is still a relatively potent weapon.

As a retired US Submariner - back in the day I'm sure someone would have loved these pics!

The sail looks like a Romeo (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/row/rus/romeo-prc-DNST8908256.JPG) class (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romeo_class_submarine).
Taking a guess here, but I think the bulge is for an SS-N-21 missile (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/633-list.htm). The sub is possibly Project 633 (Romeo class) ship number S-128.
http://orbat.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?=&p=261
S-128 - Krasnoye Sormovo - serial no. 354 - laid down 11.3.60 - launched 20.7.60 - completed 29.12.60; accepted into the Black Sea Fleet 18.1.61; transferred to the Northern Fleet 5.8.61, attached to the 46th Submarine Brigade; 29.1.68 to 4.2.68 visited Kotor and Zeleniku (Yugoslavia); 9.8.69 to 1.10.71 under repair; 23.12.75 to 7.3.77 under repair; transferred to the Black Sea Fleet 25.6.77; 1978 to 27.6.78 converted to Project 633KS standard; 4.9.90 to 21.3.91 under repair; from 24.6.91 attached to the 475th Submarine Division; 26.7.91 renamed SS-128; decommissioned 24.8.93
Scratch that, it's a 633RV. Either S-11 or S-49. S-49 is listed (http://flot.sevastopol.info/eng/ship/submarines/index.html) as still being in service!

Two Romeo-class diesel submarines were reconfigured as test craft (Project 633RV), with two 650-mm torpedo tubes fitted in a fairwater built over their bows.

hey nice work matt - looks like that could be it. however, it is surprising to me they would keep this type of vessel in the Black Sea Fleet... seams like something that was of a test or experimental nature would be kept somewhere like Murmansk or Vladivostok, especially if it is no longer sea-worthy (heard that through the grapevine, its not fact)... i will try to get the exact ship number off of that sub... gonna take a harbor tour soon :-)
