I got my first macro lens this weekend. There is going to be some learning curve, but I'm having a blast with it already. Here are my results from day one...

Yes, I don't have a TTL flash, so I used a manual flash. For a diffuser, I cut the ends off a milk jug and wrapped it around the lens. You can actually see the milk jug in the reflection in the eye picture. But, for the non-reflective surfaces like the flowers, I thought it worked out pretty well. Being new to macro, it is still odd to me that f/16 and f/22 are pretty shallow depth of field when focused this close.
