Decided to see how my big strobe would work in the bright sun. I used my favorite subject.

single strobe fired thru chimera. Photogenic 1500 set to about 1/16 power.

second strobe added to hit the rear of the bike. bare bulb in a reflector.

second strobe suspended above the bike and fired into an umbrella

I really should have added a third light camera right to hit the shadows under the cowl but since these were simply test shots of the power of my two new studio lights I didn't bother.

My original intent was to suspend the chimera (43" x 33") above the bike but it was too windy for that.

I wish you would have shown one with the available light as I can't tell any stobes were used. In fact, it looks like sunlight hitting the bike.

Here you go. First test shot. No strobe. The sun was hitting the bike set direct.

The bike actually looks pretty good with no flash. Only spot requiring additional lighting is the lower front.

The bike actually looks pretty good with no flash. Only spot requiring additional lighting is the lower front. I agree except that I also wanted to underexpose the ambient light too. But the whole point of this test was to see how my studio strobes worked in bright sun. I wanted to make sure that the second strobe would fire via it's optical trigger.
