C&C- Portrait w. flash off camera

Hi guys!
Tought id put up a picture with two different crops. Would love some C&C as im doing my best trying to improve my shoots :)
Shoot with 40D and 17-55IS together with the 580EXII flash triggered with the cheap Ebay remote triggers. Having the flash off the camera really makes a hugh difference!

I would say you have arrived at improving! Splendid photo....lighting is good, and the clarity on those killer eyes is fantastic!

I rather prefer the 1st shot- it draws attention to the eyes and the level of detail. The second shot is good technically, but I think the top part of the image takes away from her eyes and expression,

I prefer the first one as well. I agree with Zansho that it gives more attention to the eyes, but I also think the polka dot shirt is a bit distracting

I dont see the off camera flash being used effectively and I would say it was over sharpened except that those eyes look beautiful

Hi Atheist!
When i took this shoot the right side was in strong sunlight and left side in shadow, so the flash is used to fill those shadows. I would love to know how you ment that the flash isnt used effectively, im here to learn and this sounds interesting.

The image look great in 100% view, good in the face crop, but the eyes got to sharp in the bottom image. I need to learn how to resize better =)
