Hello everyone,
Looking for a used G5 or something similar. Nothing crazy.
Processor: Something moderate. Dual 1.8 or 2.0GHz or similar...
Ram: Not to worried, since i can simply add more
Hard Drive: Again not really worried about it, i can upgrade if needed
I'm just looking for a cheap system i can do my photo editing with and use as a general internet surfing machine.
Price: Lets start off with about 500.00 ish, but i am open to anything.
Id like to budget on the system so i can get a good ACD (HD monitor)
This is my first Mac system, so it should be fun! :)

I am throwing this out there even though it is way out your budget
2 month old black Macbook
2.2GHz
4GB RAM
160GB HDD
Superdrive
Mac OSX 10.5.2
$1300 shipped :D
I owe $1400 but I would take a cut :) I am def a Windows person and the Mac just isn't for me at all.

I have a G4 tower (533 Digital Audio), single processor, 15" Apple Studio monitor, etc. It has a 120gb HD, 1.5gb RAM, Dual layer DVD burner, etc. It's got 10.4.x Mac OS. MSOffice for Mac too. Apple Pro keyboard, mouse and the Digital Audio speakers. Runs great, just got a newer Mac and don't use this one.
$275 plus shipping (from MN - 55033 is the zip).

In my opinion, if you intend to use this for photo editing, you want to get the biggest screen you can afford. I have a 17" Powerbook and I couldn't imagine using a 15" screen.

Yea, i was playing around with a co-workers Macbook. thats way to small of a screen.
But i could always do a Macbook with HD Cinema display.
Or just go big and get a 17in Macbook Pro
I'm leaning towards buying a new macbook or macbook pro, since i no longer have my notebook. Originally i was just looking for something cheap so i could venture into the mac world. But i guess ill go big...
Im just trying to figure out if i want to finance a Pro, o just pay cash for a Macbook, and get a ACD later on.
