1D Mark II... no more producing folder

Dear Canon enthusiasts,
I just up graded my camera from a 10D to a new Mark II and I was just doing some test shots and all was doing well until I get to file 218 and nothing is working now..... I get this message on the LCD scream telling me "no more producing folder" in bright orange. I'm using a new lexar 2GB card, if this make any difference. What do i have to do to have my camera working again??? I'm glad that I still have my 10D. After all my 10D looks much user friendly. Any help will be very much appreciated. thanks,

Not sure I have ever experienced that one. I would think to remove the CF and battery then reload the battery with another CF card to check if it is indeed the camera.

I suggest this as several times I have had card errors because the card reader I use to offload the images somehow tags the folder it is getting the images from with an unreadable something. So when I reinsert the card into the camera, it says error CF. I simply format the card and off I go.

Hope its as simple for you :)

It could be that the camera has reached _9999 in the image numbering sequence - at this point it will ask you to create a new folder.

Hold down 'display', turn the thumbwheel to the folder icon, and then choose 'create new folder'. The subsequent images will then go into the new folder you have created.

I may well be wrong but it's worth a try.

I'm not trying to steal the thread or anything, but my 10D is about to hit _9999 in a few days. Do you think I might run into this same type of problem?

I tried what you told me to do and nothing.... I'm going back to Canon and see what am I doing wrong. Thanks for your time and help.

I tried that too but this is the problem, the camera can not creat any new folders and now it is not moving.
Now the 10D, I just went over 9999 photos and what happen the camera goes to 00000 again, just like that no buttons or folders to be set. Sometimes keep it simple it is the best way to go.

Did you try formatting the card in the Mark II? Could be worth a try.

On a markII a 2gb lexar would be full after shooting 218+ images in raw. Is your card full?

You will get this message if you take the card out of the camera for downloading via a card reader and then decide to format the card using the PC instead of the camera. All you need to do to fix the problem is just reformat the card again in the camera.
