View Full Version : Fish Eye lens's Info/Help Needed....

i really want to buy a fish eye lens for my camera its an a75 as im new to the digital photography scene i dont want to spend alot of money on a lens for this camera as i will want a more powerfull camera in the future, ive got some specs that might jhelp in answerin my question.

could i get any 35mm fisheye lens and would fit this camera ?? or would it have to be for a canon a75 ? if i can get any 35mm lens does anyone know a cheap place to buy them from ??? thanks!!

You need a .5x auxillary lens to get a 17 mm equiv fisheye. You could use this auxillary lens on any new digicam you get. I use a .6x auxillary to get a 21 mm view. I like it,

so even tho i own a A75 with a 35mm lens it would fit yea ??, just ill be buying online rather than a shop n i want to make sure

No. 35 mm fisheye lenses are for 35 mm SLR cameras. There the 35 mm refers to the film size, not the lens focal length which is typically between 8 and 15 mm. What you need for an A75 is a lens adapter and an "auxiliary fish-eye lens". The lens adapter fits around the A75's regular lens, and the "auxiliary fish-eye" screws into the threads on the front of the adapter. IIRC the A75 takes a 52mm diameter threaded adapter, but check the specific one you decide to get.

Thanks alot m8 so wot i need is an "auxiliary fish-eye" with a 52mm diameter threaded adapter, if im wrong please let me know as im not very well experienced with these types of things.
