Would that be the Gwithian just across the bay from St Ives? Nice shot, is it good enough to have a little crop and move in a bit?

Yes it was very cold and dark every time i managed to find some surfers it was getting dark, and the seas were so rough over Easter

Well, they (and you) must be mad-keen, I'll give them (and you) that !
The photo really shows how cold and rough it is. Makes a nice change from the usual warm and sunny surfing shots.
We had a decent swell for most of Easter, but they're still waiting for some good waves to finish the men's final in the RipCurl Pro at Bells Beach, which is very near my house. Always happens....pumping surf for the heats and the women, but it falls away for the men.

Its only been the second time i have had chance to shoot surf, but ive been told when the conditions are right i have some of the best waves in the world about 2 hours away on the North East coast of the UK

You mean when the pack ice thaws enough for the waves to form ? :p
Brrr.... surfing and England just don't seem to go together...and I live on the south coast of Aus where it gets cold too !
Looks like Bells will be decided today... Kelly Slater is the favourite...

You would be surprised how many Australian surfers are over here, i was at a small bay near St Ives that is sheltered from the Atlantic and gets surf maybe once every year and an Australian pulled up in his car, there were about 10 surfers in the water, he took one look and drove off, this is how big it was i never saw waves like this when i lived there
