Hi,
I updated my G1's firmware yesterday. Canon said it would fix the following problem:
Eliminates the occasional occurrence of unusual brightness or darkness in the LCD panel display when the shutter button is pressed halfway in the Tv mode.
Ok, this is true, but besides this it seems to me that the manual focus now is faster! Am I wrong? Are there some more "secret" changes?
Christoph.

Hi,
What's new? I don't know. Look at http://www.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1010&page=1&message=1188200
It's nearly a St.King story.
Have a nice day.

I don't know which "undo directory" you mean. You have to copy the "DC97" folder to the CF-Card (I cannot find a "97ph" folder - are you sure you have the right firmware?? G1?). I used the "uploadfirmware.exe" while the CF-Card was in my camera and the camera connected to my computer (via USB) for this process. Everything went fine. If you have a CF-Card-Reader you have to copy the "DC97" to the CF-card and then put the CF-Card in your camera.
Have a look at http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/PSG1/PSG1_Firmware-e.html
Good luck! If you're not sure what to do, don't hesitate to ask again ...

Sorry Christoph, I meant DC97 (I was at work and my PC is
at home). By "undo directory" I mean, that the update was
a zipped file and I unzipped it into what I am calling the
"undo directory". Along with DC97 folder, there are about
4 or 5 other files that unzipped too. If you only copy
DC97 folder to the CF, what are those other files?
