S300 Firmware Upgrade

Does anyone have the version 1.0.0.2 firmware upgrade for the S300 OR an S300 serial number I could use to obtain the upgrade? I tried obtaining the upgrade from Canon's website but was not allowed to download the upgrade. I kept getting an error message (in broken English) asking me to re-enter the correct serial number. I entered the correct serial number! I emailed Canon CS and the only help they could offer me was to send my camera to the factory. Any help is appreciated!

I believe they won't allow you 'coz the cam u have is not capable of the upgrade (earlier releases). If you think that upgrade is worth having for it will add more functionality, then, let them fix it for you (Svc. Center). For sure they will tweak a little hardware (EEPROM) to be able to support the upgrade. I had mine busted for "brute forcing" the upgrade thing. I ended up paying more than their actual charge.
