Does anyone out there own the domke giraffe?
Was considering buying this and was interested in any opinions about it.
Thanks

I have it - doesn't take a D60 (thus by extension any of the other Eos DSLRs) well. Doesn't fit a 28-90 too well either. They've discontinued the whole Quest line now, I believe, so I'd have doubts. I got it with the Spider 10 and Roo, which look like a nice combination, but I've got the combination bursting at the seams and can't get anything to add on. The Spider and Roo are nice, either individually or as a team, but the Giraffe doesn't add much at all to the combination. If I were going out with just the camera, I'd take it in the Adorama Slinger instead. And that's the only piece of Domke gear I've been less than wild about.

Thanks for your reply. Think I will hold off.
Still looking for a camera carry cases.

While I can understand the practicality of useing a Kangaroo as a pack animal for your camera gear, I would have thought a Spider would be far to small to carry anything of use, and a Giraffe would be to big to get in your car.

But compared to the 1Ds either of these animals are easier to get around :D

Well, the Spider holds more than the 'Roo, actually. Roo holds D60 or 20D & lens (no grip), and two other mid-size lenses. Spider holds 100-400 on a body, second body, 35 f/2, 15-30 Sigma, ZR70, 28-90, 1.4x and 2x TC, rain cover, lunch, and extra Mini-DV, batteries, and CF cards. Also a flash at a pinch. Giraffe will handle an F-1 (no winder/motor drive) or A-series with normal/short zoom lens, period.

Must be a giant turantula on steriods, and a pigmy girraffe.
And at least the Roo would keep your gear warm.
