This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.
Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 800 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.
The game will last 48hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.
The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.
You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.
Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.
If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read (Before and After #39)
This is all about having fun so have at it!!!
This game will end on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 10pm EST
I took this picture while walking my dog near the river yesterday. This is the new Constitution Bridge, we blew up the old one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/zormsk/487026420/sizes/o/)* a few years ago, unfortunately, as the old one looked better!

Duplicate layer
Open up a new texture
overlay texture with duplicate
set blending mode to screen and lower ocpacity to 44% or so
duplicate texture layer and then change blending mode to multiply
adjust ocpacity a lil higher
then on the two texture layers adjust levels to desired darknesses
add fill layer with white
marquee tool a circle
feather at 120 pixels
inverse
use brighten/contrast adjustment layer to get the vignette to preference
then set fill layer to multiply...
DONE

azsteve-o gets credit for inspiring me on this one. I liked his earlier edit and figured I’d give it a go. … After all, that’s why we’re doing this right?? (To learn new tricks!!!) – The hardest part was to reveal the bridge cleanly via a layer mask.

I hate making this decision when there are so many good edits.
I'm giving this one to SilverHClC. Even though the price of stamps will probably be $0.53 before I finish typing, it would make a good stamp!
Bittersweet, I always love your edits because they more fall with my style. I think you can make any image printable :)
Squip, I laughed so hard at yours. It was so random, but well done!
Just for reference, here is what I did with it

Wow. ... I'm really surprised!!! I really liked some of the other edits and I wasn't even going to give it a try. But then I remembered something azsteve-o did about a month ago and I decided to try something new. ... I have learned more tricks here in Before & After than anywhere else in the forums, and my PP techniques have gotten way better by trying to match what some of you can do. You are all amazing!!
I'll have to look for a picture to post. ... It should be pretty easy, since I am really good at taking lousy pictures .
