Thanks Gail,

I was playing around with the plug-in, and my wife loved it. I said "really?". I've gotten the reaction I gave so far :)

Here's the tree without the plugin.

Does the image itself work though?

I was trying to completely fill the frame with the tree since it's such a busy subject. Is this a better/worse/equally good direction to go with as opposed to trying to get the whole tree in frame?

I was looking at the lady in the far background...I think willows are such a freakin busy tree..do this in B&W then boost the highlights and look at all the branches!
I like the willow either shot with the entire tree in the shot, or else from the trunk climbing up...

Thank you for the feeback Gail.

I'll try some new angles when I go for my next walk in Stanley park. The look next time should change as the foliage will likely be considerably fuller. It doesn't take long to fill out once it starts.

I have to find myself a big willow around here...I would have acres of them, but the septic and well would be history.bad enough with the alders:rolleyes:

Playing in B&W, and stumbled across a pretty cool pattern:

I like the original shot, i tried something similar about a year ago and failed miserably.
The only thing that distracts very slightly is the 3 or 4 leaves hanging on for dear life on the surrounding trees.

I'm with your wife on this one: great muted softness, composition and line. Only yick factor is the glow-in-the-dark yellow-green hue... :-! Cheers, Tony

Thank you for your responses :)

I agree 100% with you Peter about the extra leaves. I wasn't sure whether I should stamp them out or not so I left them there for now. If I was going to print it (probably not) then I'd stamp them out for the final version.

I like the yellow-green hue of the new leaves :)

LD.as a kid I grew up as an Army brat..and the camp we lived in had hundreds of willows.my fondest memories are grabbing hold of the hanging branches and swinging over the ditches they grew beside.we would do that for hours!
Nothing more beautiful than a willow in leaf..
Today I am finding a good one.lol....
