I have been looking to upgrade my laptop. On a tight budget and wonder what everyone opinion would be on this laptop. I do all my edit with CS3. I am not a power user of CS3. Would this be a good buy?

x2,
Did you happen to look at the rating? Only 1 of the 3 would recommend it to a friend!

Toshiba's laptops have consistently been reliable in my experience; they've got solid drivers, the add-ons work reliably, and performance has been good for the specs. I'm typing this on one; we have 3 more at home. If this is your only computer and you spend much time on your photo editing, you might find it a bit underpowered. Adding memory and upgrading the hard drive would help that.

I found a nice Dell at BestBuy for 599.00 had pretty good specs. Windows score of 3.4 most of the 450-600.00 had scores around 2.9-3.1 Most 1k computers were running 3.4-3.6 that was my little test on displays at several stores in my area. Also costco had a couple models fair price but come with 90 day return and 2year service plan included. They also have instant rebates instead of mail-ins!! They take care of it even ifit is a manufactures mail-in. All that considered pretty good deal. I know I have over 1k worth of exp mail-ins laying around.

I have had a Dell 17" Widescreen and within the first year of general use I got a line from top to bottom dead pixels.

You're going to want at least 2 GB of ram on the next machine you get. Vista (if you have that OS with a new laptop, which is likely) is a notorious memory hog. CS3 needs all the ram it can get to run smoothly, and this is even with other stuff not running in the background like your antivirus protection.
Personally, I'd recommend getting a Dell Vostro with Dual Core setup and 4 GB of ram, it shouldn't be too expensive.

You can find pretty good deals at Lanovo.com. Take a peek at the refurbished models. I used to work for IBM (sold PC business to Lanovo) and have purchased these for my home.

DELL XPX 1330 is a very good Laptop. It is a Award Winning Notebook. We have one and very happy with the System. You can get a 128MB DDR3 Video Card with that.
Comming to the Mac, The MAC 2.1 GHZ, 256 MB Video Card Machine is also very good. Worth buying.
You can use the Mac to work on both MAC and WINDOWS.
I were you, I would buy a MAC and install a XP aswell.
