So I decided to rent the Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens (and a 580EXII flash!) to use to shoot a kickboxing event coming up this weekend. While they're here though, I thought I'd take some photos of my car.
I'm planning on taking it out to a parking garage or some better area to shoot later this week (this is in the parking lot of my apartment building ).
Now the bad news though ... I *love* this lens ... I've got to figure out how to buy it now!
Anyway, here's my first couple pics with the 10-22mm.

I'll have some more to share in this thread later this week! <edit> eek! I see sensor dust! </edit>

One pole in the parking lot and you HAD to have it behind your car?! :)

I love the 10-22 for my automotive shots. The distortions can sometimes be tricky, though. The will make or break your pictures.
Works okay in #1, except for the pole growing out of your car. Doesn't work so well in #2, IMO.

If you love this lens, you'll love the Sigma 10-20 for less $$.

I really seem to always forget about those damn poles!
Mother nature decided to be funny and dumped about 3 inches of snow in my freshly washed car last night too, and now all of town is a sloppy wet mess. I think I'm going to have to rent the 10-22mm again once it get's warmer out :(
99allturbo, have you used both? I've gotta rent the sigma and compare it then :)

i like the interior shot!! you might want to rent the sigma 10-20, its a bit cheaper and most say that its up to par with that canon lens. i personally have never used the canon one, but i love my sigma. you just have to mess with the diff angles, at some angles the distortion doesnt work out too well, like in the second shot of the first post

I love this lens, I've gotta get something this wide soon. Thanks for the car compliments - I've always loved Audi and I got a good deal on this. It's way better than the hundreds of Pontiac Grand Prix's I see driving around Iowa every day :D

Thanks for the tip ... I'll probably rent the sigma once the weather gets nicer again (if ever! we got blasted with a bunch of snow and rain in the last week)
I updated my first photo to get rid of that light pole and the sensor dust. Minus the suspiciously cloned tree, it looks allright I think. (might have to hold SHIFT while reloading page to refresh your browser cache)
The lens and flash go back tomorrow though :(
Thanks for the comments everyone!
