Right, hi, I'm Michael, I'm new here. Kind of like the little shy guy in the corner that transfered in 5th grade.
Thing is, I'm a graphic designer by birth, but recently I've fallen more and more in love with photography and it's something I'd like to get a lot better at.
But I always seem to approach a photo from a designers p.o.v, ie. "I can make this a great photograph" (as photoshop is part of my DNA), which is something I'd like to move away from and get closer to a photographers p.o.v of 'this IS a great photograph, where's my camera'.
Problem is, for a fashion shoot for instance, I could make a lot of 'so and so' fashion photos stand out via PP, but - if I would be the one taking the photos - I wouldn't have the first clue as to how direct the model, in a 'normal photographers way', to make the model look like my 'inner eye' is seeing the situation...
Is this a simple 'trial and error' subject, or is it possible to - at least - get a few hints before starting to try and find various TFP/CD models to use as test subjects?
