Is there any one here using this lens with a 20D/10d or 1D2 in lower light situations?
Is it a good one to have for event/wedding work?

I have this lens.. and I would not try to use indoors.
It's a nice portable daylight lens though.

Thanks for the answer CDS, have you tried it indoors much?

I have this lens on a 10d and I find that it works just fine ***in most circumstances*** in low light situations. Find my post in CC regarding the Bass Player and Archangle Gabriella. They were taken with concert lighting hand-held.
The circumstance, however, where it is lacking is with a brightly lit subject againsts a dark background. It does tend to halo :? , which could mean too much PS work for you.

Thanks for that RAD, I am hoping to use it during ceremonies and for receptions/candids.
I have a 70-200 IS and it is a bit too much for the job IMHO.

I have the 70-300 DO and I like it because it's small and inconspicuous, and the image quality is quite good, especially if you stop it down.
The weak point of the 70-300 DO is that it's slow, f/4.5-5.6 - it's not a good lens for low light photography! You won't get around long shutter times, unless you use flash.
If you want a good telezoom lens for low light photography, get something like the 70-200 f/2.8L IS. - edit: oh, I just read that you have that one already... :)

It simply desn't give me the shutter speeds I am looking for for the type f indoor photogrphy I do (no flash)
It may work allright with a big flash though.
I use the 70-200mm f/2.8 indoors .. or faster primes.
