Hi all - a quick summary of my experience with sensor cleaning.
I've only once seen a huge spot on my photos with sensor dust, but wondered if the shots from my 5D were quite as crisp as they used to be.
I bought an arctic butterfly 724 travel kit with 1.0x orange swabs + 1.6x orange swabs mostly in case I noticed any dust spots.
I then took a photo @ f22 of a white sheet of paper and noticed loads of dust spots despite my regular rocket-blowing of the sensors in my cameras.
I used the brush several times & this improved the situation but tests shots showed more spots remained. I then used the 1.0x swab - almost perfect results except one stubborn bit in the corner & this I removed using the mini corner swabs.
Experience was overall positive but I got fed up taking test shots & then having to re-clean so I bought a sensor-loupe before attacking my 400d.
The sensor loupe is fantastic - I could immediately see some dust which was stubborn & I easily removed this with the swab as the brush wasn't touching it.
Overall I'm now really confident with sensor cleaning & very impressed with the Visible Dust system.
