Just bought this lens... how will it do/opinions?

I have the f/1.8 version of that lens, and mine is a really great lens (especially for $70).
I would imagine that may be even better, and it should work just fine with you Drebel. Keep in mind there's no zoom so you're stuck at 50mm, which may or may not present an issue for you. Some people like primes, others want some zoom capability.

But why did you buy the lens if you didn't know if it'd work with your camera?

Can shoot wider, beter Bokeh, Better MF'ing................among others
Only downside is the 1.4 has more barrel distortion.
