Has anyone used the 550 EX with the dedicated shoe cord on a flash bracket with the G6? Does it work?

Don't know why it wouldn't. I use the off-camera cord with a 550EX and a G2. Mounting the flash on a bracket wouldn't make any difference to hand-holding it.

Thanks for the response. I was just wondering if all the TTL functions plus the zooming action of the head would remain in tact; if it works OK with the G2, I see no reason why it wouldn't on the G6.
Actually, if the 550 EX's zoom head stayed at the 35mm position, that would be fine with me.

I think everything will be the same.

I don't think there's any way to lock it into position -- but then I try to avoid flash photography whenever possible. :D
Good luck.
