Hi guys. Perhaps someone has some tips. I only use perhaps a PL filter at times and a UV filter on all the time, but I just never seem to be able to keep them clean. I handle them with care always, I never used to have this trouble years ago. Perhaps the coating is different nowdays!! Anyway ANY TIPS would be helpful please. Regards, [F.R.]

I keep two polyester/silk eyeglass cleaning cloths in my bag at all times.

Good lens cleaner and lens tissue. It seems I am cleaning mine more than I did 20 years ago as well. More polution in the air?

Or you guys are getting old, those shaky hands aren't as accurate as they used to be, hahahaha.
I'm going to hell for this.

Hoya filters have a reputation for being difficult to clean - there always seems to be streaks or a haze left on them after cleaning. Could that be your problem?

Hey Persian-Rice,
I resemble that remark! I took the UV filter off my 100mm macro this weekend to get the flash on. I promptly fumbled and bumbled and got lots of finger prints on the filter.

I use a Lens-Pen to clean my filters and lenses.

Thanks for the replies guys, very interesting. As for Persian-Rice...minute by minute and hour by hour you're getting there mate :( we all do!!!!!!!!!!
But joking apart, no, I don't get finger marks on the filters but they just seem to mark. I will try some of your suggestions and see what happens. Regards [F.R.] :)
