Here is another shot from Downtown Vancouver Shot on a cool Winter day. I think that I am going to blow this one up and frame it. I like it a lot...

Well it is nice.. and we were not there.

Did you take a bunch of shots ?

Did you have any control over the DOF re the foreground .. and if so...did you opt for the out-of -focus choice for mood ?

I would suggest the following to improve your shot:

1. The reflection from the building glass is very distracting, you may adjust your exposure to knock off the flare, or shoot at some other time of the day when the angle of the sun is relatively different.
2. The outfocussed part of the tree serves as a frame for the picture. The tree part of the picture must be minimized to enhance the subject, which is the building. Imagine seeing a framed picture where the frame is too big (specially on left and bottom side) and the picture too small( and open on the right and top side).
3. Kindly try to avoid distractions like the dry sticks handing out of the tree.
