Playing around with my new Tamron 90mm f2.8. hearing a scream from the kitchen my girlfriend pointed to a visitor sitting on the oven. With a little encouragement I moved it to a hanging plant we have, best not to have fried Frog for Sunday dinner, and started snapping away.
First time I have posted on the Macro forum so here goes..........
Cheers,
Mark.

I would have liked to get the whole animal pin sharp too but the Tamron only affords a very shallow DOF. I was using a security flood light (I'm not kidding) as a main light with the on camera flash as a filler. This little guy lives in our plant pot so if you can give me pointers on getting a better DOF I can try again tomorrow. I did try ramping the ISO to 1600 to try shooting at f11 through to f22 but still the same shallow DOF. I also tried A-DEP setting on the control dial but again I think its just down to that lens. I could be wrong, I am very new to this.
Cheers,
Mark.

I think youre right Mark,,, if you went through your F stops from f11 to f22, youre correct,,thats usualy the "sweet spot" on that lens,,,, what where your settings on those shots ? I might suggest a small crop on that photo, take it up to the edge on the OOF plant on the right,,
