I use the G2 primarily to take photos of my new 6 month old boy.

Other than price, is there anything better about the G2 vs. the G6 that I will miss?

Will the G6 accept the same CF card?

Is the built-in flash as good?

Is the autofocus really faster?

If I had a G5 I'd probably have kept it and not upgraded. I upgraded from a S200 which was given to me as a gift; it was an excellent camera but just too compact for my likes.

If I owned a G1, G2 or G3 and only used it occasionally I'd probably not upgrade either. The G6 is "alot" of camera for a good deal amount of cash. No sense in upgrading if you do not plan to use it alot.

I upgraded to the G6 from to G2 and I have to say it's well worth it. I like the slightly smaller size and the LCD is bigger and brighter.

The startup time is so quick compared to the G2. I bought the lens tube right away and use a wide angle Olympus lens for wider shots. The battery has a longer life, I charged it 2 months ago when I bought the G6 and it's still on the first charge with intermittent use.

I played a bit with the super Macro mode and I admit I kinda like it. The picture quality is equal to or better than the G2 in most cases as far as I can tell.

Overall I like the look and the feel of the G6. I planned on selling my G2 but couldn't do it.... same with my G1
