Hi all,

I ordered a new Dell XPS at the end of January in order to use with my photography business. My main goal was to use the laptop to connect my camera and shoot to it and export the images to my main desktop for editing. Also I wanted to use it for simple word processing and printing through my network print server.

All of this sounds great...but, it's now almost april and I have yet to get the camera connected to the laptop and shoot with it reliably, it always disconnects and I just can't rely on it for big shoots. Also I can not get it to work with my print server, and now I can't get on the net with it. It is running vista and it seems nothing is working right for me. I feel like you almost have to be a computer whiz to get vista working with everything and working right. There always seems to be a glitch.

Now this laptop is not bad at all but it will not work for what I need it for. So I call dell and ask for a return, he obviously says that it is after my 21 day return policy and he will transfer me to technical support. I said no thanks, because I have been on the phone with them numerous times, and this time I just don't want this thing anymore!

So my question is, has anyone else run into this sort of dilemma? What can I do to get this laptop returned and refunded?
Thanks for all your help!

Unless there is something wrong with the laptop it is yours. You own it. You can however return it to me. PM me for return shipping address, at your expense. I will issue a credit that is redeemable at any store where I am recognized as a vendor.

Your best bet is to just sell it or work through the bugs.

I suggest the discussion forums at notebookreview.com http://forum.notebookreview.com/. The people there are pretty helpful and can guide you through a lot of different issues; including possibly a "downgrade" to Windows XP.
