Ok,
so now for all you who want to compress these AVI (M-JPEG codec) files to MPEG.
I've been able to do it with the following software:
Step1
Download de M-Jpeg CODEC from http://www.morgan-multimedia.com/
Step2
Install the CODEC
Step3
Download the following AVI to MPEG converter:
http://www.ush.de/avi2mpeg.htm
Step4
Install it
Step5
Start it and click on the two computers to set the properties. Enable VIDEO ENCODING ONLY.
Step6
Open your AVI file with the folder icon, compress it with the box button (cyan)
That's it!
The only problem is that it won't work with audio, some fool at Canon decided to use a Sample rate of 11.024KHz, and it has to be 11.025KHz to work!!!!!
Dammit!
