One of only a few decent slow shutter speed shots taken that day. 1/250sec.

Good one. It's especially difficult to get a blur as you get close to a profile shot.

That is an amazing photo.
What are those crossed out airplane stickers on the side? Is that how many other planes that guy has taken out?

Back in the day (during WWII) those markings would have signified how many enemy that pilot had destroyed. Not certain if the Japanese had different markings for air to air shootdowns Vs planes destroyed on the ground.
If those markings are current, I'm sure the FAA will want to have a chat... ;)

Taken with my XTi and a rented 400mm f5.6. I found a link posted on this forum somewhere to cameralensrentals.com and decided to give it a try.

How did you like the lens? I have one coming for our air show in May I'd be interested in hearing what you thought of it and if you have any tips for shooting with it.
Great picture too by the way.

I'm not sure it is a Zero... There are very few left. I think they only had one for Tora, Tora, Tora.

This was a real one at Aviation Nation back in November of '07:
FAA Lookup says it was built by Mitsubishi. IIRC, this one belongs to Planes of Fame in Chino, CA

Thanks Muchly...
Yeah, I've always looked for two key features in trying to determine if a Zeke is real or a T6 conversion:
1) Cowl is deeper on the real thing (They paint more black behind the cowl flaps on the T6 conversion...makes the cowl look deeper than it really is.)
2) Cowl is nearly the same circumference along it's entire length.
Look at the OPs photo and you'll see the cowl on the T6 conversion is shorter and has a much more pronounced bulge in the middle. More of a barrel shape.

Ah the Chino Planes of Fame air show is coming up next month. It is a great show not to be missed if you live in the area. They do have one of the only flying Zeros AFIK. And the original Northrop flying wing. How can you pass it up? The tail and the cockpit in the OP's pics did it for me. Just didn't look right.
