Shot Shooting Paintball!

I took the plunge this weekend and shot a paintball tournament in Huntington Beach - in the area with the players and all of the paintballs whizzing by me. It was terrifying!!! I ended up getting shot once in the leg (that stung) and once right in the lens (fortunately it all cleaned off just fine). Here are a few shots that I got - not an easy way to shoot - through a mask that puts your eye about 3 inches away from the viewfinder, but it was fun!

NICE, makes me wanna get the markers out and play!! It is hard to shoot PB, action all over and on top of it your worried about getting whacked. Keep up the good work.

Debbie, these are AWESOME!!! Love the color and nice close ups. Sorry you got hit, wish I had a picture of that! Is this a sport your boys do? Thanks for posting.....finally!!

My media pass was just for the Celebrity Big Brothers/Big Sisters matches - if I would have pushed it, I probably could have gotten into some of the other matches, but my job that day was to get shots of the celebs playing, hanging out with the Big Bro/Big Sister kids and hanging out in the VIP tent ... so that's where I spent my time. :)

Erica - I was going to post some lacrosse pictures, but quite frankly, my photos just don't seem to generate a lot of discussion around here, so I don't post too often. I read and learn though!

And don't worry about getting hit, it will only hold you back. Besides its just a paintball, and it isn't like you're playing for money.

it was nice seeing you out there, we spoke a bit on and off the field. Your shots turned out great and I bet it was a lot less painful than you thought it would be. I remember you saying you got hit in the leg and it did not hurt, I just get a kick out of photographers the first time out.
