NASCAR Practice C&C At Will

Despite the fact that I actually travel the NASCAR circuit*, I rarely get a chance to shoot cars on track. Grabbed a few frames at Martinsville, VA this past weekend and kind of liked how this one worked out.

this is the angle that I'd always wanted to try to get...

hopefully will try to get it at the Coke 400 in July

This angle is a wee bit easier to get at Martinsville than it is at Daytona...

Now if you took that 1200mm beast that was for sale at B&H up into turn two at Daytona, you'd probably get something like this! ;)

That's the driver all the others were mad at Sunday. Seems he doesn't know how to get out of the way. I know at least one driver gave him the chrome horn.

Reasons I left that much at the bottom:

1) Gives the car somewhere "to go"
2) The wear patterns and tire marks hint that he's almost at the turn in point

First Cup start for '08 (maybe ever) so he was quite the rolling speedbump all day.

Wish I could go play bumper cars like that and take home $88K ... :lol:

Yeah, I'll be there but the only time off I'll have is the Monday before (flying down from Loudon, NH) and at this point, I have no idea what I'll be doing. Knowing me, I'll be driving to the hotel and passing out...

My most humble apologies... You are absolutely correct. Guess I've been doing this long enough that my brain is entirely on "auto pilot."

I actually haven't consulted a schedule in several years since, well, nothing (until now) changes much with NASCAR...

My only nit is that it doesn't leave the car room to drive into....

But, we're here to learn from each other and one shooter's opinion is as valid as another.
