the avant guitar stylings of Thurston (Sonic Youth) and Bill (Vampire Belt) kicked off the recent Boredoms show. anyone versed in SY knows that TMoore does a ton of collaborations, and tends to show his wilder and woolier side in this setting. this was no different, about a 25 minute set of guitar noise, some gentle (steel wool rubdown), some not so gentle (sheet metal flailings).
the lighting was provided by two small, dim blue spots. hence, the 'ACR Blues' (trademarked by René Damkot) were in full effect, and i did most of these in black and white (the ones i left in color i tried to adjust luminance and saturation of the blue channel, but my calibrated monitor is attached to a dead PC and my laptop is all i currently have working at the moment). even though i was extremely close, the autofocus didn't work too well at all, and between that and failed manual focus attempts, i immediately deleted over half of the shots i took.

#6 (intentional slow shutter speed; normally i would think this is junk, but actually i think it fits TMoore's sound and approach rather well)
