I've read the G6 User Guide concerning AF Frame but feel I still do not fully understand it's use.
When is it best to use the following modes?
- Evaluative Metering
- Center-Weighted Averaging
- Spot AE Point

Evaluative: I recommend this as your "default" mode. The camera senses your subject matter, and compares it to its internal database, then makes a decision as to the best exposure.
Center Weighted: This is most similar to an old-fashioned SLR metering mode. It assumes that your most important subject area is at the center of your frame and exposes accordingly.
Spot: Use this when you have large brightness differences in different areas of your picture. It will allow you to get a precise measurement of a relatively small area, like a spot meter (though not quite as small an area as a true spot meter).
Don't get any of the above confused with the AF frame. While they are related, think of focusing and metering as two separate entities.

Thanks. That helped.
