Just got back from the best MotoGP round I can remember. We were given paddock passes and I've got Valentino's autograph and shots of him, Jorge Lorenzo and James Toseland behind the garages.
All my images were taken on the Saturday as I've leaned years ago that attempting to take pictures on race day is doomed to failure.
Provided I've figured out how to attach files, there should be a shot of the 250's during qualifying. If it's not there, I need advice!
I've got 2 almost full 4 gb cards full of images to wade through.
Richard.

What kind of post processing did you do? This looks off to me, colors, halos around the helmets liketo much vibrance, clarity slider went crazy, over sharpened...

Steve,
Thats showing my lack of knowledge of what web posts need. The printed A4 looks fine, but I posted in AdobeRGB without any special web alterations and thats what you see I reckon.
I use Photokit Sharpener and have found for printing it needs to look "overcooked" on screen.
I need lessons on how to prepare them for web use, so any advise would be welcome.

No, the Bautista - Simoncelli battle came to an abrupt end before they got to us on the last lap. But it was a great scrap while it lasted.
We stayed in Puerto Santa Maria and my wife had commented that one of our group looked like "Bradleys Dad". Then on Sunday night, Bradley Smith and his Mum were in the Bar, so if not Dad, then certainly a relation. But flying Ryanair?
I've attached another attempt, this one of Dani and this time in sRGB. Lets see if it's any better.

I do notice that whenever I post process in Photoshop and save in TIFF, the Windows thumbnails look very weird. But the images open and print from PS7 completely normally.
Most of the images are taken at the last corner, Curva Ducados.

Can you post an image that has had no processing, just converted to jpg.
The Dani photo is a nice shot, it looks as if it's been overcooked though.

Bryan,
I'll do as you suggest tomorrow. I'm in the middle of my first sift through and its getting late.
Although I will do as you ask and put one up "as shot", I really do need advice about preparing images for internet display. This is all new to me. It's obviously very different to preparations for printing.

Bryan,
OK, heres one with absolutely nothing done to it beyond trimming it to 1024 pixel maximum dimension. And I do mean nothing.
Like the others, it was shot at a very high ISO to keep the shutter speed high enough not to suffer from camera shake, with an aperture in the Sigmas sweet spot zone.

Apart from being very grainy it's so badly out of focus that I don't think any sharpening software will cure that.
Also why did you need to shoot at a very high ISO in such bright and sunny conditions, surely 200 would have given you a high enough shutter speed to freeze any action.

Swiss Toni,
It's certainly "soft". I used a Sigma 170-500 with a 1.4x TC, so it was never going to be as sharp as my L lenses. It will not AF, so I prefocus on a spot and hope I press the shutter "in the zone" so yes, I could easily have missed it slightly. This is about as good as that combination will give me, maybe slightly better than you see here, but not much.
I shot that way following advise I received here a while ago. I'd been having problems getting these sorts of angles. Panning shots, using lower shutter speeds, I'm OK with. It seems to have worked in print, but as this is the first web posting I've ever done, I have a large learning curve to climb.
Coming from a film background, I don't dislike some noise, as I'm used to grain. It gives it some "reality".
